Author's Notes - 12-14-2016

Hello, internet types!

This Friday (midnight EST), I will begin rolling out the three part novelette "The Heart's Filthy Lesson", free to read right here on! This one delves a little more into detective Reggie Harper's college days, and a handful of events that would shape his life in important ways.

"The Heart's Filthy Lesson" is named for (though presented slightly grammatically differently than) a track from David Bowie's 1995 album "1. Outside", and was the only title I ever even remotely considered for it. This is mostly because the character of Maryanne Hillard is an ardent Bowie fan. It also serves the story quite well.

Starting this Friday and continuing each Friday through December 30th, I will be finishing up this brief (though not at all final) glimpse into Reggie Harper's past in "The Heart's Filthy Lesson" before moving on to a shorter, more self-contained story from his current life before finally releasing "Bully For You" next year!

So keep your eyes peeled and keep checking back here for more stories, as well as updates on "Bully For You" (including a fast-approaching cover art reveal) and all future Harper titles. And don't forget to check out last week's short, "When I Met You" before diving into "The Heart's Filthy Lesson" on Friday!

   Happy reading!
