Hello, loyal readers, players, total strangers, and their pets!

It’s that time of year again, where I give you a little update on what I’m up to. Sound good?

Alright, so, first off, I want to remind people one last time that, after three years of mostly-solo development, I recently released the cinematic novel—“White Light”—which is playable exclusively in “Dreams” on Sony’s PS4 and PS5! See the home page for more information on that.

“Dan, dude, enough with the game already. Will you please just give us some kind of update on the next book?”, you might be asking.

“You will have it by next Christmas,” I confidently reply. “I’d say it’s been quite long enough.”

So, I’ve had this massive, top-secret project I’ve been planning alongside the writing of the next book, but it is unfortunately on hold for now, due to lack of funding (but not cancelled). Meaning that the next mainline ‘HARPER mysteries’ book is getting 100% of my creative energy from now until it’s done and in your hands, eyes, and hearts. Even your mouths, if you like chewing on books.

No judgment here.

“How about a cover reveal or something though? IT’S CHRISTMAS EVE,” you say (like, a royal ‘you’ rather than you, specifically).

Why not?” I reply.

TEXT READING: a HARPER mystery, IF I DIG TOO DEEP, DAN BURLEY. In the center of the image is an all-seeing eye, set as a sunburst. The left half of it is white on a red circle, which is set in a larger, blue circle. The right half is an inversion.

In “If I Dig Too Deep”, both Reggie and Elizabeth Harper take the reins as they join forces to smoke out the Haiku Killer and get to the bottom of their game once and for all. But nothing is ever quite as cut and dry as it appears to be, and this case is no exception. In fact, it will push them and pull them in ways they never imagined, and may just change their lives forever.

If you want to know more than that, you’re going to have to wait a little longer. As for me, I’m going to take it easy through Christmas and New Year’s Eve, then I’m going to attack the rest of this book with everything I have. For now, I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday season, and that you have a wonderful 2024!

As always, thank you for reading, and for playing! All four of you!
